Since October 2020, he has headed the office of the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa) at the DeZIM Institute. Previously, he worked as a press and public relations officer at the Turkish Community in Germany e.V. since 2017. Most recently, he headed the monitoring committee of the Federal Conference of Migrant*innenorganisationen as managing director. In September 2020, this committee published the "Anti-Racism Agenda 2025" with recommendations for action to combat right-wing extremism and racism. Dr. Cihan Sinanoğlu completed his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity in Göttingen. For a research stay he was at the City University of New York, and he has also taught at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen.He was honored as a "Young Thinker" by the trade magazine politik & kommunikation. In June 2023, he was appointed to the Anti-Racism Expert Council by the Federal Government's Commissioner for Anti-Racism, State Minister Reem Alabali-Radovan.n 2024, he was appointed by Berlin’s Senator for Labor, Social Affairs, Equality, Integration, Diversity, and Anti-Discrimination, Cansel Kızıltepe, to the expert commission on anti-Muslim racism in the state of Berlin. In 2025, he was subsequently appointed by the Berlin state government to the Enquete Commission on Antisemitism and Anti-Muslim Sentiment.
