Previously, he researched the change in social perceptions of illness using the example of dementia. For the NaDiRa (National Discrimination and Racism Monitor), he conducted a study on racism in medical education with regard to teaching materials and the perspectives of medical students and doctors affected by racism. His main areas of focus are qualitative research on medicine, biopolitics, norms, racism, and technology and knowledge in late modern societies.
