
Dr. Moritz Sommer

Dr Moritz Sommer is a political sociologist specialising in protest and social movements as well as social polarisation. He studied political science and sociology in Münster, Enschede, London and Berlin and completed his doctorate at the Institute of Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin, where he worked as a research assistant from 2014 to 2016. Most recently, Dr Moritz Sommer was a guest researcher at the European Institute of Columbia University in New York. His work has been published in national and international journals such as the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS), the Journal of Civil Society and the Kölner Zeitschrift für Soziologie und Sozialpsychologie. Dr Moritz Sommer is a board member of the Institute for Protest and Social Movement Research and co-editor of the Forschungsjournal Soziale Bewegungen (FJSB).
