E-mail: karadeniz(at)dezim-institut.deÖzcan Karadeniz is expert for Community Outreach at the German National Monitoring of Discrimination and Racism and a member of the executive team at the DeZIM Institute since August 2024. He is responsible for the coordination of civil society dialogue and support, alongside integrating and anchoring community-based knowledge in research.
He previously held executive positions in non-governmental organizations for many years. His work was concerned with a broader dissemination of content engaging critically with racism and discrimination, for example via documentary films, exhibitions, essays and other formats in the field of political education.
He has taught at various universities and was a member of the Federal Ministry of the Interior's Independent Expert Group on anti-Muslim racism from 2020 to 2023.
