Dr Svenja Kopyciok is a research associate for integration monitoring at the DeZIM Institute. She is a sociologist with a background in political science and psychology. She completed her doctorate at Brown University on the relationship between political ideological orientation and anti-Muslim racism. There she investigated anti-Muslim attitudes within the politically left-orientated population as well as anti-Muslim discourse of left-wing parties in Germany. She uses quantitative and qualitative methods, such as analysing population surveys and quantitative content and qualitative discourse analysis, and combines them with each other.

Dr Svenja Kopyciok has also researched the labour market integration of Muslims, the demarcation of the majority society towards immigrants and national identities.
