The joint project develops proposals for the further development and redesign of formats and structures to strengthen evaluation and quality assurance in extremism prevention, democracy promotion and political education. PrEval sees itself as an interface project that interlinks the essential knowledge networks for the subject area and brings them into a productive dialogue.

The project is coordinated by the Leibniz Institute Hessian Foundation for Peace and Conflict Research and carried out with nine other partners (University of Bielefeld (IKG), Violence Prevention Network gGmbH , i-unito gUG, University of Duisburg Essen, Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft religiös begründeter Extremismus e.V., Amadeu Antonio Stiftung, Bundesarbeitskreis Arbeit und Leben e.V.).

The goals of the project in the field of evaluation and quality assurance in the prevention of extremism, promotion of democracy and political education are (1) to advise decision-makers in politics and administration; (2) to develop needs-oriented support services for evaluation and quality assurance for participating organisations; (3) to prepare the concept for a planned "Federal Institute for Quality Assurance"; (4) to include existing formats and partners and to expand to include new initiatives, knowledge bases and networks; (5) to stimulate relevant scientific discourses and studies.

The work programme is structured in six work packages: 1. monitoring and analysis - Future Workshop and PrEval Monitor; 2. studies on innovative evaluation designs and on the design of evaluation processes; 3. Future Workshop database; evaluation reports; 4. Future Workshop helpdesk; 5. Future Workshop; "Knowledge Network"; 6. consultation and networking formats; knowledge transfer, public relations and coordination.The DeZIM is involved in WP 1.3 "Monitoring Evaluation Research/PrEval-Monitor"; WP 2.2 pilot study "Digital Evaluation of digital citizenship eucation" and WP 3 "Future Workshop Database Evaluation Reports", among others.
