Konvivialität und Transnationalismus – konzeptionelle Überschneidungen und Bereicherungen

AutorInnen: Nowicka, Magdalena Publikationsjahr: 2023

Conviviality and transnationalism are concepts that so far have been used separately but they share interest in the everyday life, and both want to understand how it unfolds. Also, both notions were used to critically engage with how we, scientists, understand society. This contribution engages with both terms seeking their similarities and the possibilities for cross-fertilizations. First, this contribution introduces the readers to the scholarly engagements with ‘society’. Second, I examine how conviviality and transnationalism are defined in the literature. Third, I discuss the similarities and differences between these two concepts to finally point to how the synergies between them could be used to address the future vis-à-vis the challenges of global inequalities and climate change.
