Support and integration of protection-holders from Ukraine: Capturing subjective perspectives

The study analyses subjective perceptions of Ukrainian protection-holders concerning their settlement processes in Germany. The material made accessible consists of 78 english languaged transcripts of semi-structured interviews from a longitudinal qualitative panel (LQP) study. Between September 2022 and March 2024, five waves of interviews were conducted in September/ October 2022 (1st wave), November/ December 2022 (2nd wave), January 2023 (3rd wave), February/ March 2023 (4th wave) and February-April 2024 (5th wave). Interviewees are mostly female Ukrainian protection-holders who fled from Ukraine after the 2022 Russian full-scale invasion and settled in Berlin and Munich. Thereof, 70 interviews were conducted with 14 individuals throughout all five waves, four interviews were conducted with one person throughout four waves, two interviews with one person in two waves and two interviews with two people in one wave. The interviews in Berlin were conducted in Ukrainian and the ones in Munich were done in Russian. All transcripts were later translated into English, are archived and available for scientific secondary usage.
