Prof. Dr. Andreas Pott is a geographer. He has been a professor of social geography at Osnabrück University since 2007. From 2010 to 2020, he was Director of IMIS and, among other things, responsible for the further development of the institute after the retirement of the founding generation and its transformation into a university research center. He has been Deputy Director since 2021. In the international research network IMISCOE, he is Co-Director of the Standing Committee "Reflexivities in Migration Studies". His academic work is dedicated to the combination of spatial social research and interdisciplinary migration research. His current research focuses on: Geographies of migration, migration regimes, urban cultural production, upward mobility processes in the migration society, knowledge production.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Pott represents the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS) in the DeZIM research community. He is deputy spokesperson of the DeZIM research community and also acts as scientific advisor to the DeZIM Institute.
