Anna Shostak is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Sociology, University of Wrocław (Poland). Her research interests lie in sociology of migration and mobility studies, with a particular focus on the (im)mobile life strategies and trajectories of young Ukrainian adults. She is currently involved as a research assistant in the LYMAS: Life Strategies of Young Labouring Migrants in Ageing Societies research project, funded by Volkswagen Stiftung. She conducts and analyses biographical narrative and episodic interviews and co-organises participatory filmmaking workshops with young mobile people currently living in Wrocław and Lower Silesia.

Anna Shostak obtained her MA in Sociology (Intercultural Mediation specialisation) from the University of Wrocław. Previously, she worked as a field researcher in several qualitative projects exploring lived experiences of female refugees and migrants shaped by war. Alongside her academic path, she actively engages in non-governmental initiatives supporting dialogues between migranticised communities and citizens.
