Begüm Güngör
Former Researcher Integration Department
Begüm Güngör has been working as a researcher in the Integration Department since October 2023. She studied sociology and political science at the University of Hamburg, as well as sociology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, focusing on cultural sociology. Begüm Güngör research interests include the negotiation of belonging in migration societies, intergroup conflicts, and qualitative research methods. In her master's thesis, she examined to what extent Muslim women perceive symbolic boundary-drawing processes during their naturalization, and how these processes are configured. Previously, she was employed at the Leibniz-Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut, where she contributed to EU-funded projects.
