
Jonna Rock holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Humboldt University of Berlin. She has been a researcher in the Migration Department since July 2022. Previously, she was a Sylke Tempel Fellow of the Future Forum and a researcher as part of the Minor project “The Course of (Hi)Stories”. Rock’s research lies at the nexus of political and social history, specialising in the intersections between migranticised, racialised, and gendered perspectives. She is the author of “Intergenerational Memory and Language of the Sarajevo Sephardim” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019) and of several journal articles, book chapters, and working papers, including in Nationalities Papers, Journal of Refugee Studies and Osteuropa.
