Former Researcher Migration Department

Lea Christinck joined the Migration Department in 2021, initially as a student assistant and later as a researcher. Her work focused on migration narratives and the critical analysis of migration and border regimes.

Lea Christinck previously studied geography and political science at the University of Hamburg and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. This was followed by a double master's degree in Sociocultural Studies at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and the Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis. Her master's thesis was based on the DeZIM project ‘Sea Rescue in the Mediterranean’.
