Rahaf Gharz Addien is a mathematician and social data scientist with a strong interdisciplinary background. Currently, she is a research assistant at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM).

She studied Mathematics at Damascus University before completing a Master’s in Data Science at Freie Universität Berlin.

Her research explores the applications of computational social science and AI ethics, with a particular focus on developing new data collection methods and analyzing interviews. She is especially interested in the potential of AI to push social science beyond a purely confirmatory approach, enabling more exploratory and generative insights.
