Former Science Manager NaDiRa Office National Monitoring of Discrimination and Racism (NaDiRa)

Dr Urszula Woźniak is a social scientist. Since April 2024, she has been a research manager at the DeZIM Institute in the office of the National Discrimination and Racism Monitor (NaDiRa). She previously worked as a research assistant and coordinator at the Department of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she also completed her doctorate in sociology.

In her dissertation, she examined the significance of the neighbourhood as a contested system of normative order and the emergence of ‘public morality’ in Turkey in the 2010s. She conducted empirical studies in Germany, Poland, Great Britain and Turkey. Her research and teaching positions include the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Boğaziçi University and the Institut Français d'Études Anatoliennes.

In addition to her academic work, Urszula Woźniak has been involved in issues of gender equality policy and diversity mainstreaming at the university in recent years. As a cultural practitioner, she has also curated various formats, including for the Maxim Gorki Theatre, the Polish Institute Berlin and the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
