E-mail: zindel(at)dezim-institut.deDr. Zaza Zindel is a sociologist who earned her PhD from the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS) with a dissertation on the use of social media as a means of recruiting marginalized and discriminated against survey participants. Her research interests include survey methodology, the potential of social media for empirical social research, and the exploration of new technologies to improve the statistical representation of rare populations.
Zaza Zindel was previously involved in the BMBF-funded project "Gender and Sexual Diversity in Focus: Participation and Diversity of Lifestyles (SOEP-GeSMin)" at the University of Bielefeld and the FGZ project "ZuSichT: Perspectives of People with Disabilities on Social Positions and Cohesion" at the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG). In both projects, she was responsible for recruiting survey participants, programming the surveys, monitoring the field phase, and processing the data, including weighting.
