DeZIM_talk: “What daycare centers do children need now and in the future?”
February 13, 2025 | 18:00-19:30 | DeZIM Saal
Mauerstraße 76, 10117 Berlin
We cordially invite you to our evening event "Which daycare centers do children need now and in the future?". The event will take place on 13.02.2025 from 18:00 to 19:30 followed by a get-together at the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM). The aim is to discuss the current and future needs of childcare facilities in the context of post-migrant societies and structural challenges.
In times of a shortage of skilled workers, increasing expectations of the educational mission of daycare centers and changing social requirements, early childhood education systems are facing significant challenges. Topics such as the professionalization of daycare staff, discrimination against certain groups, access barriers and segregation processes require intensive discussion and innovative solutions.
In view of the upcoming federal elections, it is clear that the concerns of children, and in particular their rights, are hardly being taken into account in party political programs. As a result, the comprehensive importance of daycare centers for society as a whole is being overlooked. Against this backdrop, we would like to invite you to a specialist political exchange in order to point out the great need for action that currently exists in the upbringing, education and care of children.
We are inviting experts from politics, science and practice to this important dialog. Together, we would like to discuss short and medium-term options for strengthening daycare centers and how these can be implemented.
