It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Bernhard Nauck (Chemnitz University of Technology), who will remain in our memories as a scholar and valued colleague. Bernhard Nauck shaped German social science for decades. He made a significant contribution to the development of empirical research on integration and migration and played a decisive role in advancing this field, both methodologically and in terms of content. His work on migrant families, in particular, ranks among the discipline’s most important contributions and will continue to have a lasting impact.
Bernhard Nauck had close ties to DeZIM from the very beginning. With his advice, experience, and active support, he guided and helped shape the development of our institute. For this, we thank him from the bottom of our hearts. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, his loved ones, and all those who were close to him.
