Running time August 2019 until March 2021
Status Completed project

On behalf of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration, the DeZIM Institute is preparing the Federal Government's integration monitoring agreed in the Coalition Agreement in the form of a First Report on Indicator-Based Integration Monitoring. The report is being prepared in cooperation with the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB).

In this report, integration is not only understood as a one-sided adaptation process of people with a migration background, but as a process of society as a whole.

In addition to describing integration processes with in-depth analyses, the project team will investigate the causes of partial gaps and corresponding mechanisms of action. This is essential to point out gaps in representation and participation. In this way, essential starting points for analysing the impact and, if necessary, improving integration policy instruments will be found.

A recommendation for the future design of an independent, science-based integration monitoring at the federal level is also being developed.

With the Federal Institute for Population Development, the DeZIM Institute has a strong cooperation partner that is excellently positioned, especially in the fields of law, labour, housing, education and health.
