Especially in light of rising anti-Muslim racism and the simultaneous delegitimization of efforts to address it, we are particularly committed to creating spaces for dialogue, scholarly analysis, and shared perspectives.
Anti-Muslim racism is a problem affecting society as a whole, with implications for security, civic participation, education, the workplace, and trust in institutions. At the same time, the body of knowledge on anti-Muslim racism is often fragmented. Monitoring, civil society reports, scholarly findings, and policy measures sometimes proceed in parallel, without systematic feedback.
Together with CLAIM, the Knowledge Network for Racism Research (WinRa) will therefore bring together current situational knowledge and scholarly perspectives and create a space to identify research gaps, needs for knowledge transfer, and avenues for cooperation between academia, civil society, practitioners, policymakers, and government agencies.
The focus will be on CLAIM’s annual report on anti-Muslim racism, the current state of research in Germany, and questions regarding where data, analyses, and perspectives are still lacking, what research is needed in the future, and how findings can be sustainably translated into prevention, protection, administrative action, and policy.
