- Administration
The administration has the task of providing the best possible support to DeZIM's research by offering the infrastructure and supplying the institute with all necessary services to ensure smooth research operations.
The administration is divided into following teams: Human Resources, Finance, Procurement and Purchasing, Funding Management and IT Administration. The Library, the institute Secretariat and Reception are also affiliated to the administration.
The Human Resources team, headed by Jessica Wils, advises, supports and manages personnel matters of all DeZIM employees, from payroll accounting, vacations, absences and time tracking to work references. The department is also responsible for all travel expenses management for employees and guests. In addition, the team supports the institute management and the individual departments in recruiting and developing staff.
Under the supervision of Michaela Krethe, the Finance team is responsible for the proper management and transparent use of the association's financial resources. In addition to traditional financial accounting, the range of tasks includes financial planning and the preparation of annual financial statements. This team is also responsible for the Institute's controlling, which ensures the efficient and targeted use of funds.
When using public funds, responsible practices, self- evident transparency and procedural reliability are a prerequisite for a large number of contractual awards and material procurements. Under the management of Maja Peinl, all awards and procurements are handled in accordance with the relevant guidelines of the funding body. The team provides comprehensive process support for the researchers, from determination of requirements and awarding process to commissioning and final contract drawing.
In addition to institutional funding, project funding is the second major funding pillar of DeZIM. The Funding Management team, headed by Benjamin Schwarze, advises and supports the individual departments and researchers administratively from project application to project completion.
Since the institute was founded, DeZIM has always endeavored to provide a powerful and mobile IT infrastructure to researchers and employees. The team headed by Thorsten Stößel is responsible for all IT issues, hardware and software administration. One of the main tasks is data security and backup.
