This project examined discrimination practices, experiences and perceptions of relevant groups. It also explored intersectional intersections of discrimination in terms of their causes and effects. Last but not least, it aimed to advance empirical research development in the field of discrimination. In a secondary analytical special evaluation of the ADS study (2015, N > 17,000), the handling of racism and in particular the intersectional perspective were examined. The effects and interplay of different forms of discrimination in affected groups were analysed in detail. In addition, experts were asked about alternatives to the category of migration background used in official statistics and empirical studies. In this way, the difficulties of measuring ethnicity and multiple discrimination were to be overcome and new survey instruments developed.
