Project description:
The Horizon Project EqualStrength examines cumulative forms of discrimination against people with migrant backgrounds, religious minorities, and racialized groups across countries. By simultaneously examining disadvantage and discrimination in the labor market, child care, and housing markets, it places the family at the center of interest. This project adopts a cross-national and intersectional perspective, contrasting the experiences of the general population with those of people experiencing discrimination. Methodologically, the project combines field experiments with surveys and response time-based indirect measurement techniques, as well as secondary data, registry data, and policy analysis. DeZIM.lab is particularly responsible for the implementation of the field experiments in Germany and coordinates the cross-national implementation of the Avoidance Task, a reaction time-based indirect measurement method, with MIND.set.
