E-mail: schiefer(at)dezim-institut.de fon: 0049 (0) 30-200754-202Being a psychologist by training, Dr. David Schiefer has been working for many years as a researcher on the life situations of people with migration and refugee histories as well as members of ethnic and cultural minorities. His research has focused, among other topics, on social and cultural identities, subjective well-being, individual and cultural-societal values, intergroup attitudes, and the living conditions of refugees. After holding positions at Jacobs University Bremen and in the Research Department of the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration, he joined the DeZIM Institute in 2018. There, his work centers around the topic of family in the context of migration, with a focus on transnational family relationships. Dr. Schiefer's work has been published in numerous international journals, such as the European Journal of Social Psychology, the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology, and the journal Social Indicators Research. In addition, he regularly makes his scientific findings available to policymakers and the public in study reports.
