Tae Jun Kim has been affiliated with the office of the Racism and Discrimination Monitor at the DeZIM Institute as a research assistant since May 1, 2021, and conducts research on various aspects of (racist) discrimination. Tae Jun Kim is a sociologist and is writing his dissertation on the devaluation and exclusion of overweight bodies in Germany, focusing in particular on activist efforts that challenge the ideal of a slim body. Previously, Tae Jun Kim was employed at the Institute for Medical Sociology at the University Medical Center in Hamburg and contributed to various research projects on social inequalities in health and healthcare, psychosocial work-related stress, as well as stigmatization and discrimination.
