Within the framework of the project "Policy and Administrative Planning with the help of the DeZIM.panel", the possibilities of the DeZIM.panel will be used to collect targeted data on research needs of the BMFSFJ. Empirically validated and empirically based policy advice is an important task of the DeZIM Institute. DeZIM's online access panel (DeZIM.panel) offers the possibility to conduct a representative sample of people with and without migration experience four times a year. The DeZIM.panel is thus a valuable instrument for providing empirically sound policy advice. In exchange with the BMFSFJ, three concrete questions have already been identified that are to be investigated in this project:

  1. How well known are individual family benefits among different population groups and what does this awareness depend on?
  2. What attitudes to partnership, employment and parental allowance are present in different population groups?
  3. Who knows and uses the services offered by migrant organisations (MSOs) such as parents' associations?

These questions will first be translated into questionnaire items and distributed across different waves of the DeZIM.panel starting in 2023. Subsequently, the results will be discussed with the BMFSFJ. Depending on demand, the publication of the results can be supplemented by events such as expert discussions.
