His research examines how institutions shape immigrant integration, with a focus on the rigorous evaluation of integration policies in Germany and North America.
Dr. Harder studied political science at the Universities of Hamburg and Konstanz and at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his PhD as a fellow of the Graduate School of Decision Sciences at the University of Konstanz and later specialized in migration and integration research as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University. His work has been published in Nature Human Behaviour, PNAS, Sociological Science, and other leading journals.
