DeZIM Afghans in Turkey Survey

The “DeZIM Afghans in Turkey Survey” collected data that allows investigating the living situation and migration experiences of Afghans in Turkey, with a particular focus on Afghan refugees. The data was collected in 2022 and comprises 774 individuals that were recruited in a purposive high variance sampling in 7 cities throughout Turkey that were pre-selected based on a relatively large known presence of Afghan refugees. The questionnaire comprised. Very generally, the survey collected data on the multidimensional well-being of respondents (including their life satisfaction, discrimination experiences and health related variables), their past migration experiences and current considerations to leave or stay in Turkey. To better understand the demographic profile of Afghans in Turkey, we also enquired about respondent’s household composition and the whereabouts of their nuclear family. Respondent demographic information include their education and work experiences.
